Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

RIVER AND STREAM RESTORATION - INSTALLED A SERIES OF LARGE WOOD LOGJAMS ON ABIQUA CREEK, NEAR SILVERTON, OR. THESE LOGJAMS CREATE HABITAT FOR SALMONOID SPECIES IN THE CREEK BY SLOWING THE SPEED OF WATER, WHICH ALLOWS SPAWNING GRAVEL TO ACCUMULATE, AND CREATE COLD WATER REFUGIA FOR YOUNG FISH. ABIQUA CREEK IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STREAMS IN OUR WATERSHED IN TERMS OF AQUATIC HABITAT AND THIS WORK WAS THE CULMINATION OF MANY YEARS OF PLANNING, GRANT APPLICATIONS, AND PARTNERSHIP BUILDING.
