THE HENRIETTA LACKS HOUSE OF HEALING IS A 501C3 NON-PROFIT THAT PROVIDES TRANSITIONAL LIVING, EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, AND HEALTH RESOURCES IN THE GREATER BALTIMORE AREA IN ORDER TO COMBAT HOMELESSNESS AND RECIDIVISM BY SUPPORTING RE-ENTRY INTO THE COMMUNITY AFTER RECENT RELEASE. FOUNDED BY HENRIETTAS GRANDSON, ALFRED LACKS CARTER, JR. TO PROVIDE EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES IN BALTIMORE FOR MARGINALIZED MEN AND WOMEN IN THE VERY COMMUNITY HENRIETTA RAISED HER CHILDREN. HENRIETTA LACKS HOUSE OF HEALING COLLABORATED AS THE FISCAL SPONSOR OF THE LACKS FAMILY-LED HELA100 TO HONOR HER 100TH BIRTHDAY ON AUGUST 1, 2020. HELA100 COLLOQUIUM ANNUAL CONFERENCE HONORING HENRIETTA BY HIGHLIGHTING THE GLOBAL AND COMMUNITY LEADERS ADVANCING HEALTH EQUITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE FROM PATIENT RIGHTS, GENETICS, PRECISION MEDICINE, CANCER DISPARITIES, MATERNAL HEALTH, ACCESS TO CARE, CULTURAL HUMILITY, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.
