RESTORING WETLANDS ON MDNR PUBLIC LANDS CREATING, WETLAND HABITATS AND ENHANCED RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, WHILE BUILDING LARGE, PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED AND MAINTAINED WETLAND AREAS SUPPORTS A MORE BIODIVERSE ECOSYSTEM WITH A MORE SUCCESSFUL TRACK RECORD OF LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY. PURCHASING PERMANENT CONSERVATION EASEMENTS ON PRIVATE LAND TO ENHANCE WETLANDS AND CREATE A WETLAND MITIGATION BANK TO ASSIST AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS WHO ARE OUT OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE SWAMPBUSTER PROVISIONS OF THE FARM BILL TO COME INTO COMPLIANCE.
