MISSING PERSONS - UNDER THIS PROGRAM, SJAC DOCUMENTS AND INVESTIGATES MISSING PERSONS, MASS GRAVES, AND DETENTION CENTERS, FOR THE PURPOSES OF IDENTIFICATION.


DOCUMENTATION AND TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE - UNDER THIS PROGRAM, SJAC CONDUCTS THE DOCUMENTATION OF SEVERE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS OCCURRING DURING THE SYRIAN CONFLICT. SJAC LEADS ACTIVITIES TO LAY THE FOUNDATION OF FUTURE MEANINGFUL TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE PROCESSES FOR SYRIA, INCLUDING PROGRAMMING ON CRIMINAL ACCOUNTABILITY, TRUTH-TELLING, INSTITUTIONAL REFORM, REPARATION, AND MEMORIALIZATION, AS APPLICABLE.


CAPACITY BUILDING - BY PROVIDING INSTITUTIONAL AND PROGRAMMING CAPACITY BUILDING TO GROUPS LED BY SURVIVORS OR FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF CORE INTERNATIONAL CRIMES IN THE SYRIAN CONFLICT, INCLUDING PROVIDING SMALL SUBGRANTS TO THE GROUPS, SJAC BUILDS THEIR COMPLIANCE AND FINANCIAL CAPACITY.
