ALERTFEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION (FGM) LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT - IN 2021, AHA FOUNDATION ADVOCACY, ALONG WITH THAT OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS, RESULTED IN THE REAFFIRMATION OF THE FEDERAL LAW BANNING FGM (THE STOP FGM ACT OF 2020). AHA FOUNDATION'S MODEL ANTI-FGM BILL WAS ADOPTED IN INDIANA, WHERE THE FOUNDATION TEAM WORKED CLOSELY WITH BILL SPONSOR STATE SENATOR ELIZABETH BROWN TO SUPPORT ITS PASSAGE. CHILD MARRIAGE LEGISLATION -AHA FOUNDATION SUPPORTED STATE-LEVEL COALITION EFFORTS THAT RESULTED IN TWO STATES, RHODE ISLAND AND NEW YORK, ENDING CHILD MARRIAGE.TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS ABOUT FGM, CHILD MARRIAGE & HONOR VIOLENCE - IN 2021, AHA FOUNDATION CREATED A VIRTUAL TRAINING FOR THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION. SINCE 2007, THE FOUNDATION HAS EDUCATED OVER 3,100 SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS, AND SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELORS ON RECOGNIZING AND PREVENTING HONOR VIOLENCE, FORCED MARRIAGE, AND FGM. PETERSON PODCAST, AND SPOTIFY'S MOST-LISTENED-TO PODCAST, THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE. AS A REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR, AYAAN HAS WRITTEN MULTIPLE COLUMNS FOR THE LONDON-BASED PUBLICATION, UNHERD, AND OP-EDS PUBLISHED IN THE SPECTATOR, NEW YORK POST, THE TELEGRAPH, AND THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. ACTIVATE:CAMPUS CRITICAL THINKING FELLOWSHIP (CTF) - IN 2021, AHA FOUNDATION SUPPORTED ACTIVE FELLOWS, UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENT LEADERS, AT OVER 25 COLLEGE CAMPUSES THAT HOSTED BOTH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON EVENTS TO PROMOTE AYAAN'S IDEAS ABOUT WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND CONFRONTING POLITICAL ISLAM. RECORDINGS AND LIVESTREAMS OF CTF EVENTS HAVE REACHED UPWARDS OF 800,000 PEOPLE.
