ARTSTILLERY IS AN EXPERIMENTAL NONPROFIT THAT EMPOWERS MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES WITH THE ARTS.

IN SPITE OF HISTORY PART 1 (2022) WAS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN BROADWAY DALLAS AND FAIR PARK FIRST TO CREATE AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON THE HISTORY OF REDLINING IN SOUTH DALLAS. AN ARCHIVAL JOURNEY BETWEEN ARTSTILLERY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF ARLINGTON SPECIAL COLLECTIONS HAVE ALSO PARTNERED TO STORE THE INTERVIEWS, PAPER ARTIFACTS AND IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE RECORDINGS ONTO THE UTA DATABASE. THIS PRODUCTION SERVED OVER 1,200 COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND WAS OFFERED FOR FREE TO THE PUBLIC.FAMILY DOLLAR (2020-2021), BROUGHT TOGETHER ORAL HISTORY, ARCHITECTURAL PRESERVATION AND IMMERSIVE THEATER TO TELL THE STORY OF ONE WEST DALLAS COMMUNITY THREATENED BY THE LEVEE ON ONE SIDE AND THE TIDES OF GENTRIFICATION ON THE OTHER. ARTSTILLERY LATER PARTNERED ON THE PROJECT WITH THE NASHER SCULPTURE CENTERS PUBLIC ART INITIATIVE, NASHER PUBLIC. THE COLLABORATION RESULTED IN A VIRTUAL-REALITY COMPONENT TO FAMILY DOLLAR THAT WILL ENABLE GUESTS TO CONTINUE TO INTERACT WITH THE STORIES AND PERFORMANCES EVEN AFTER THE SHOWS CONCLUSION.DIRTY TURK AKA DIRTY IMMIGRANT (2018) FEATURED VIDEO INSTALLATIONS, ORIGINAL MUSIC, AND LARGE-SCALE PUPPETRY. THIS EMOTIONALLY CHARGED PRODUCTION EXAMINES THE STRUGGLES OF FIRST GENERATION CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANT, MIGRANT, AND REFUGEE POPULATIONS ASSIMILATING INTO THE UNITED STATES. THIS PRODUCTION WAS INVITED INTO THE DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART FOR A WEEKEND SHOWING SEPTEMBER 2021 TO SOLD OUT AUDIENCES AFTER ITS ORIGINAL DEBUT AT 723 FORT WORTH AVE. IN WEST DALLAS.
