FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE (FIL) IS A COMMUNITY BASED, NON-PROFIT ARTS ORGANIZATION FORMED IN 1986 TO PRODUCE AN ANNUAL VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL CELEBRATING THE FRENCH CULTURAL HERITAGE OF SOUTHERN LOUISIANA -- PRIMARILY A COMBINATION OF FRENCH, AFRICAN, CARIBBEAN AND HISPANIC INFLUENCES.FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE'S MISSION IS TO: 1) ENRICH THE COMMUNITY BY CELEBRATING ITS NATIVE CULTURES, 2) EDUCATE THE PUBLIC TO THE HISTORICAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS OF RELATED GLOBAL CULTURES, 3) DEVELOP AND ENCOURAGE AN APPRECIATION FOR THE ARTS, AND 4) ENHANCE THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACADIANA REGION THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ARTS EVENT AND THE PROMOTION OF CULTURAL EXCHANGE ON A NATIONAL AND GLOBAL LEVEL.
