THE MISSION OF THE CENTER OF SOUTHWEST CULTURE IS TO DEVELOP HEALTHY INDIGENOUS AND MEXICANO / CHICANO COMMUNITIES THROUGH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, CULTURAL, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. OUR WORK TAKES A LINGUISTICALLY AND CULTURALLY SUPPORTIVE APPROACH AND IS CENTERED ON CULTURAL LIFEWAYS, TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, AND EXISTING RESOURCES TO INCREASE OVERALL COMMUNITY HEALTH.

ASSISTED INDIGENOUS AND MEXICANO/CHICANO GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS IN DEVELOPING LONG-TERM ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES, INCREASE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND STRENGTHEN CULTURAL LIFEWAYS. PROVIDED BILINGUAL ORGANIC GARDENING WORKSHOPS TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO START AND MAINTAIN BACKYARD GARDENS AND GROW THEIR OWN ORGANIC PRODUCE.
