COACH MACK'S CORNER - THE MACK FAMILY FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH LOCAL INNER- CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN GREATER LOUISVILLE TO INSTALL STATE-OF-THE-ART READING ROOMS. THE FOUNDATION RENOVATES UNUSED CLASSROOM OR SPACE WITHIN THE SCHOOL AND TURNS IN INTO A READING OASIS, COMPLETE WITH EXTENSIVE SHELVING, COMFORTABLE SEATING, EXCITING UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE BASKETBALL-THEMED WALL GRAPHICS, SUBSCRIPTIONS TO CHILDRENS MAGAZINES AND MORE THAN 600 AGE-APPROPRIATE BOOKS AT THE STUDENTS DISPOSAL. THIS SPACE DRAWS CHILDRENS INTERESTS FAR MORE THAN AN ORDINARY LIBRARY IN HOPES TO FOSTER A LOVE OF READING. IN 2021, A NEW COACH MACK'S CORNER WAS OPENNED AT BYCK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LOUISVILLE, KY.
BACK TO SCHOOL - THE BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAM IS HELD WITH THE PURPOSE OF ENSURING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS LIVING IN FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED HOMES HAVE THE ITEMS THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL - ULTIMATELY PROVIDING THE STUDENTS MORE SELF-CONFIDENCE AND A DESIRE TO GO TO SCHOOL.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT - A FOOD SECURITY PROGRAM CREATED TO DIRECTLY IMPACT INNER-CITY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN LOUISVILLE. IN 2021, THE FOUNDATION OPENNED A FOOD FOR THOUGHT PANTRY AT LAYNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THIS PANTRY WILL SUPPLY FOOD TO THE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES OF LAYNE ELEMENTARY FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR AND INTO THE FALL/WINTER OF 2022. ALL LAYNE STUDENTS HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE FOOD PANTRY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
GENERAL ASSISTANCE - GENERAL ASSISTANCE IN PROVIDING FOOD SECURITY, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND INCREASING LITERACY FOR INNER-CITY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.
