CHILD EDUCATION - STEP FORWARD'S HEAD START PROGRAM SERVED 1,834 CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE GREATER CLEVELAND COMMUNITY. IN PARTNERSHIP, STEP FORWARD AND ITS PARTNERS DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS IN SAFE, NURTURING ENVIRONMENTS. IN ADDITION TO AN ENGAGING PRE-SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT, STEP FORWARD HEAD START PROVIDES HEALTH, MENTAL HEALTH AND DENTAL SCREENINGS, NUTRITIOUS MEALS AND FAMILY LITERACY OPPORTUNITIES TO INCORPORATE THE ENTIRE FAMILY INTO THE SPIRIT OF GROWTH AND RESPONSIBILITY.STEP FORWARD'S EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM INCORPORATES THE BELIEF THAT EDUCATION STARTS WHEN LIFE BEGINS. STEP FORWARD IS A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR THE YOUNGEST OF CHILDREN AND THOSE WHO HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN BORN YET. STEP FORWARD SERVED 171 INFANTS, TODDLERS AND PREGNANT WOMEN, THROUGH THE EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES PRENATAL EXAMINATIONS, PARENTING CLASSES, AND QUALITY INFANT CARE TO ELIGIBLE FAMILIES.
COMMUNITY SERVICE AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS - COMMUNITY SERVICES TO PROVIDE ELIGIBLE LOW INCOME PARTICIPANTS WITH VARIOUS SERVICES AND TO SUPPORT OTHER PROGRAM ACTIVITY.HOUSING ASSISTANCE- STEP FORWARD'S NEIGHBORHOOD OPPORTUNITY CENTER PROCESSED ONLINE APPLICATIONS WHICH CONSISTED OF HOUSING ASSISTANCE FROM THE TIME FRAME OF 2/1/2021-1/31/2022. STEP FORWARD SUPPORTED 1,800 UNDUPLICATED HOUSEHOLDS OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY WITH HOUSING ASSISTANCE UNDER FIVE GRANTS-CSBG, CSBG-CARES, CDBG, HRG AND CFR. THE ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES WAS MAINTAINING THEIR HOUSEHOLD BY AVOIDING EVICTIONS, FORECLOSURES, AND UTILITY DISCONNECTIONS.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE -STEP FORWARD HELPS LOW-INCOME FAMILIES COPE WITH THE COSTS OF LIVING WITH THE EMERGENCY HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM RUNS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, PROVIDING FINANCIAL AID FOR BOTH SUMMER COOLING AND WINTER HEATING BILLS. STEP FORWARD SERVED 3,132 HOUSEHOLDS FOR CRISIS ASSISTANCE, CONSISTING OF 13,958 APPLICATIONS.
