SCHOOL VACATION GIVEAWAYS - ELIGIBLE SCHOOLS TYPICALLY HAVE OVER 50% OF THEIR STUDENTS AT THE FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH ELIGIBILITY. LITERACY MATERIALS ARE DISTRIBUTED IN THE 2 WEEKS BEFORE 4 SCHOOL BREAKS TO DISRUPT THE LOSS OF ABILITY AND ESPECIALLY THE SUMMER SLIDE.
COMMUNITY SERVICES INCLUDE DISTRIBUTING LITERACY MATERIALS TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES THROUGH SEVERAL LOCATIONS INCLUDING FOOD AND BABY PANTRIES, LIBRARIES, MIGRANT CAMPS, WOMENS RESOURCE CENTERS, AND FOSTER CARE.
COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS - A GROWING PROGRAM IN WHICH WE WORK WITH ESTABLISHED HEALTH DEPARTMENT PROGRAMS SUCH AS WIC, VACCINATION CLINICS, MATERNAL INFANT HEALTH PROGRAM (MIHP) AND OTHER SITES TO PROVIDE CONSISTENT LITERACY MATERIALS TO THE NEEDIEST.
