THROUGH OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA, WE OFFER INFORMATION THAT FACILITATES FAMILIES TO CONNECT WITH NATURE AND FIND COMMUNITY. TOOLS PROVIDED: FAMILY TRAIL GUIDE, A HIKE CALENDAR, A USED GEAR FORUM, FUN BI-ANNUAL CHALLENGES, A NETWORK OF FRIENDS.

2021 WAS A YEAR FOCUSED ON GROWING HIKE IT BABY PROGRAMS TO BETTER SERVE A MORE DIVERSE AUDIENCE OF FAMILIES, REMOVE BARRIERS FOR THOSE FAMILIES, AND HELO THEM TAKE THEIR FIRST STEPS OUTSIDE WITH THEIR BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN. WE LAUNCHED OUR FIRST 6-WEEK BRING IT OUTSIDE FAMILY HIKING SERIES, SERVING 60 FAMILIES THAT INCLUDED NATIVE SPANISH SPEAKERS, LOW INCOME AND RURAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS. WE HOSTED OUR FIRST WE GOT YOUR BACK NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY EVENTS TO HAND OUT GEAR AND RESOURCES TO GET FAMILITES OUT HIKING. WE CREATED AND DISTRIBUTED A BOOKLET, TURN THE BLUES GREEN, DESIGNED TO SUPPORT POSTPARTUM MENTAL HEALTH AND HELP PARENTS KNOW THAT NATURE AND HIKE IT BABY IS THERE TO HELP. BILINGIAL WANDER WALKS WERE INSTALLED IN 45 LOCATIONS ACROSS THE US. WE PRODUCED A BILINGUAL FOOTPRINTS INITIATIVE LAUNCHED TO START EARLY CHILDHOOD TALKS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLES. WE HOSTED A 2-PART COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION WORKSHOP FOR OUR AMBASSADORS AND HIKE HOSTS. FINALLY, WE NAVIGATED THE CHALLENGING AND EVER-CHANGING GUIDELINES FOR COVID-19 SAFETY IN PUBLIC SETTINGS TO DETERMINE THE SAFEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE METHODS TO RETURN TO HIKING IN PERSON ACROSS OUR 260 BRANCH COMMUNITIES.
