CICLAVIA IS A CALIFORNIA NONPROFIT CORPORATION WITH AN UPLIFTING MISSION TO CATALYZE VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACES, ACTIVE PEOPLE-POWERED TRANSPORTATION, AND GOOD HEALTH THROUGH INCREDIBLY POPULAR CAR-FREE STREET EVENTS. CICLAVIA KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES, TOUCHING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE FROM ALL NEIGHBORHOODS, WALKS OF LIFE, ECONOMICS, ETHNICITIES, CULTURES, MOBILITY, AND AGES. CICLAVIA HELPS SHAPE POLICIES THAT AFFECT THE COMMUNITY, CLIMATE RESILIENCY, MOBILITY & SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION, AND PERSONAL AND COLLECTIVE WELLNESS. SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 2010, CICLAVIA HAS BUILT A GLOBAL REPUTATION WHILE EARNING THE TRUST OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.ON AUGUST 15, 2021, CICLAVIA WAS THE FIRST OPEN STREETS EVENT IN THE REGION TO OCCUR (CICLAVIA-WILMINGTON) FOLLOWING AN 18-MONTH ABSENCE DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS. SUBSEQUENTLY, CICLAVIA PRODUCED FOUR (4) TOTAL OPEN STREETS EVENTS IN FY '22 AND SAW A RETURN TO PRE-PANDEMIC ENGAGEMENT INCLUDING SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS OF BOTH FIRST-TIME ATTENDEES AS WELL AS DEDICATED MULTI-EVENT PARTICIPANTS, WHO TOGETHER MIRROR LOS ANGELES COUNTY'S DIVERSE DEMOGRAPHICS. COMBINED, APPROXIMATELY 150,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE FOUR (4) EVENTS.IN JULY 2022, CICLAVIA SIGNED A NEW THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES TO PRODUCE AT LEAST 28 EVENTS BEFORE JULY 2025. THIS CONTRACT INCLUDES THE LAUNCH OF CICLAMINI'S - NEIGHBORHOOD ROUTES UNDER THREE (3) MILES DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SLOW DOWN AND EXPLORE AREAS NOT PREVIOUSLY ACCESSIBLE BY LONGER CICLAVIA ROUTES. BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY 2022, WE HAVE NINE EVENTS PLANNED FOR 2023 MOVING INTO A MONTHLY CADENCE BY THE END OF THE YEAR AS PART OF OUR EFFORTS TO CHAMPION A MORE EQUITABLE, HEALTHY, AND CONNECTED LOS ANGELES. EVERY EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND AND AVERAGES 50,000 ATTENDEES WHOSE DEMOGRAPHICS REFLECT THAT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY WITH 38% HISPANIC, 38% WHITE, 14% ASIAN, AND 7% AFRICAN AMERICAN. ALL CICLAVIA EVENTS HIGHLIGHT THE LOCAL CULTURAL, SMALL BUSINESS, ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS WE VISIT. FUNDING COMES FROM METRO, INDIVIDUAL CITIES, EVENT SPONSORS AND SUPPORT FROM PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS.
