FIRST IN, RELIEF FOR EVACUEES (FIRE) WORKS WITH THE LOCAL OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES TO COORDINATE EFFORTS TO ASSIST THOSE WHO HAD BEEN AFFECTED BY VARIOUS DISASTERS WITHIN A THREE-HOUR DRIVE FROM WOODLAND, CALIFORNIA. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING THE USE OF THE TRAILER TO THE OFFICES OF EMERGENCY SERVICES IN VARIOUS OTHER COUNTIES, FIRE'S VOLUNTEERS DELIVER SUPPLIES AND THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF DONATED FOOD, CLOTHING, BLANKETS, TOYS AND PERSONAL ITEMS TO EVACUATION CENTERS. IN ADDITION TO DELIVERING THE DONATIONS, FIRE VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR LARGE SCALE COORDINATION OF SUPPLIES AND DONATIONS TO VARIOUS COUNTIES AND OTHER LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS. WHEN APPROPRIATE, FIRE PROVIDED GIFT CARDS TO EVACUEES SO THEY MAY PURCHASE FRESH GROCERIES FROM STORES LOCAL TO THEM. THE ORGANIZATION'S WEBSITE AND VARIOUS FUNDRAISERS WE HOST SERVE TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN DISPLACED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRES. VIRTUALLY ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED GO TO ASSIST EITHER THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DISPLACED OR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS DIRECTLY SERVING THEM.
