FOR THE SIX-MONTH PERIOD ENDING JUNE 30, 2022, PROYECTO JUAN DIEGO RECORDED IN EXCESS OF 17,000 ENCOUNTERS FOR MORE THAN 9,000 UNIQUE PARTICIPANTS AND APPROXIMATELY 2,000 REFERRALS; MADE OVER 800 HOME VISITS IN AND AROUND BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS. PJD OPERATES 14 DIFFERENT WEEKLY PROGRAMS MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY AT DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE CITIZENS OF BROWNSVILLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS. ITS THREE MAIN FOCUSES ARE: (1) HEALTHCARE WHICH INCLUDES DIABETIC SCREENING AND PRE-DIABETIC EDUCATION, AND TELEMEDICINE; (2) INTEGRATED FAMILY PROGRAMS WHICH INCLUDE PARENTING, MOTHER, FAMILY AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT, TUTORIAL AND MENTORING HIGH RISK STUDENTS, AND STRESS MANAGEMENT; (3) COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WHICH INCLUDE CITIZENSHIP CLASSES, GED AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASSES, TOWN HALL MEETINGS, GET OUT THE VOTE, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, AND CHANGING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
