WE CONTINUED TO STRENGTHEN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, LOBBYING, AND POLITICAL WORK - IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH. TOGETHER WE ADVOCATED FOR AND PASSED SIGNIFICANT POLICY PACKAGES THAT CREATED THE FOUNDATION FOR A UNIVERSAL CHILD CARE SYSTEM IN OREGON. WE PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN PASSING A BILL THAT PROVIDES IMMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM RELIEF TO OREGON'S MOST VULNERABLE FAMILIES IN NEED OF CHILD CARE BY ESTABLISHING THE DEPARTMENT OF EARLY LEARNING AND CARE (DELC), MAKING REFORMS TO OREGON'S PUBLIC CHILD CARE PROGRAM, AND CREATING MORE FINANCIAL STABILITY FOR PROVIDERS AND PARENTS INCLUDING LOW-INCOME AND SINGLE-PARENT FAMILIES, AND BIPOC MOTHERS AND CAREGIVERS. WE ALSO ORGANIZED IN SUPPORT OF BUILD BACK BETTER, STRATEGICALLY PUT GRASSROOTS PRESSURE ON MULTIPLE FEDERAL LEGISLATORS.
