STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCORDING TO LOCAL POLICE THERE ARE THREE TURF GANGS IN THIS PARTICULAR AREA WITH APPROXIMATELY 75-250 MEMBERS AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THE LOCATION OF OUTREACH IS BETWEEN TWO OF THESE GANGS AND THE ORGANIZATION'S AIM IS TO ENTICE AT-RISK YOUTH AWAY FROM GANG ACTIVITY, PROVIDE POSITIVE, PRODUCTIVE, AND CONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAMS TO THIS COMMUNITY WHILE IMPROVING THEIR EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCES. SINCE LOT318'S INVOLVEMENT, GANG ACTIVITY HAS DECREASED AND SHIFTED AWAY FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND MANY OF LOT318'S STUDENTS ARE NOW EXCELLING IN SCHOOL AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALLY IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDING GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF LOT318 WAS STRATEGICALLY PLANNED. LOT318 IS SURROUNDED BY APPROXIMATELY 5,000 HOMES AND APARTMENTS. THE LA JOLLA COMMUNITY IN PLACENTIA IS KNOWN AS A "DESERT COMMUNITY" AS THEY HAVE LIMITED ACCESS TO LARGER PARTS OF THE CITY, SUCH AS GROCERY STORES, GAS STATIONS, AND OTHER RESOURCES. LOT318 RESOURCES ARE OFFERED IN THE LA JOLLA, PLACENTIA COMMUNITY TO ALL AGES AND SKILLS THIS INCLUDES AN AFTER-SCHOOL HOMEWORK CLUB PROGRAM FOR GRADE SCHOOL CHILDREN TO RECEIVE HELP IN THEIR HOMEWORK, MATH, AND READING SKILLS. THEY EARN POINT INCENTIVES FOR THEIR WORK AND ARE ABLE TO "SHOP" AT THE LOT318 STORE AT THE END OF THE YEAR. THIS DEMONSTRATES TO THEM THAT THEIR HARD WORK IS REWARDING AND THEIR EDUCATION IS VALUABLE ADDITIONALLY, LOT318 CONTINUES THE EFFORTS IN THEIR SUMMER MATH AND READING PROGRAMS. THIS PROVIDES FUN OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STUDENTS TO MAINTAIN THESE SKILLS INCLUDING PHYSICAL EDUCATION WITH GAMES, AND RECREATIONAL AND SCHOLASTIC FIELD TRIPS THE LOT3EIGHTEENZ (MIDDLE SCHOOL AND OLDER) HAVE A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN BIKE CLUB, SOCIAL GET-TOGETHERS, AND EVEN SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES MANY LOT3EIGHTEENZ VOLUNTEER WITH THE YOUNGER CHILDREN IN HOMEWORK CLUB AND SUMMER PROGRAM AND HELP RECEIVE DONATIONS. THEY ARE BEING EQUIPPED TO LEAD WITH SERVANT'S HEARTS FOCUSING ON THE FAMILY UNIT, LOT318 HAS GAINED TRUST, ALLOWING FOR A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PARENTS OF THE HOMEWORK CLUB AND LOT3EIGHTEENZ STUDENTS. THIS ALLOWS WALLS TO BE BROKEN DOWN AND VULNERABILITIES TO BE SHARED, SO THAT LOT318 MAY COME ALONGSIDE THESE FAMILIES TO EMPOWER AND GIVE THEM THE CONFIDENCE NEEDED TO STRIVE FOR POSITIVE CHANGE WITHIN FOR THE PAST 13 YEARS, LOT318 HAS OFFERED MULTIPLE COMMUNITY-WIDE EVENTS. SUCH EVENTS INCLUDES HOSTING A THANKSGIVING DAY CELEBRATION, OFFERING A STREET FAIR WITH FAMILY PORTRAITS, A CLOTHING DRIVE, GAMES, AND MORE. THE DAY IS ENDED SERVING AND ENJOYING 1,500 HOT THANKSGIVING MEALS WITH NEIGHBORS, FAMILIES, AND FRIENDS OF THE LOT318 AND LA JOLLA COMMUNITY. ANOTHER EVENT HOSTED WAS AN ANNUALMEMORIAL DAY STREET SOCCER TOURNAMENT WITH UP TO 36 TEAMS TRAVELING TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD, THEY COMPETED FOR LOT318 GEAR, "BRAGGING RIGHTS", AND THE CHANCE FOR THEIR TEAM TO REPRESENT THEIR NAME ON THE 1ST PLACE TROPHY EVENTS SUCH AS THESE BRING NEW FACES TO THE AREA, ALLOWING LOT318'S MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT TO BE LIVED OUT, THEREFORE BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SOCIETIES AND CULTURES. THIS IS ALL MADE POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE COUNTLESS PARTNERSHIPS THAT LOT318 AND ITS' STAFF MEMBERS HAVE ESTABLISHED IN 16 YEARS OF BEING PRESENT IN THE LA JOLLA, PLACENTIA COMMUNITY. LOT318 IS INVESTING IN A CHILD, CHANGING A GENERATION, AND BUILDING A COMMUNITY.
