CITY FRUIT PROMOTES THE CULTIVATION OF URBAN FRUIT IN ORDER TO NOURISH PEOPLE, BUILD COMMUNITY AND PROTECT THE CLIMATE. WE HELP TREE OWNERS GROW HEALTHY FRUIT, PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN HARVESTING AND DISTRIBUTING FRUIT, PROMOTE THE SHARING OF EXTRA FRUIT, REDIRECT FRUIT THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO WASTE TO PROCESSING, AND WORK TO PROTECT URBAN FRUIT TREES.

HARVEST: CITY FRUIT HARVESTED MORE THAN 37,000 POUNDS OF FRUIT, DISTRIBUTING THIS TO 26 COMMUNITY PARTNERS, FOOD BANKS AND MEAL PROGRAMS ACROSS THE CITY AND REDIRECTED APPLES FROM WASTE BY MAKING THEM APPLESAUCE. WE ALSO FACILITATED DISTRIBUTION OF 11,000 POUNDS OF DONATED BANANAS.
ORCHARD STEWARDSHIP AND VOLUNTEERISM: CITY FRUIT ACTIVELY STEWARDED TREES ON PUBLIC PROPERTY ACROSS 8 PUBLIC ORCHARDS. WE PLANTED 20 FRUIT TREES IN PUBLIC SPACES AND 1,280 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME WERE DONATED BY MORE THAN 150 VOLUNTEERS.
EDUCATION: CITY FRUIT WORKED WITH SEVERAL YOUTH-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS AND P-PATCH GARDENS TO CONDUCT FRUIT TREE WORKSHOPS AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND RESTORED OUR MASTER FRUIT TREE STEWARDS EDUCATION PROGRAM, REACHING 55 PARTICIPANTS.
