THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP OUR COMBAT WOUNDED VETERANS GET THROUGH EMERGENCIES AND OTHER DIFFICULT FINANCIAL TIMES. TYPICALLY THIS OCCURS WHILE VETERANS ARE WAITING FOR THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION AND OTHER RELATED AGENCIES TO PROCESS THEIR SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY CLAIMS. THIS SUPPORT IS GENERALLY PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF A MONTHLY STIPEND OR GRANT OF $200 PER MONTH FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD OF TIME, WHICH IS USUALLY 6 TO 18 MONTHS.
THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO CREATE A SOCIAL NETWORK TO HELP VETERANS DEAL WITH DEPRESSION AND OTHER PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES BROUGHT ON BY THE STRESSES OF COMBAT, TO FOSTER BROTHERHOOD AND TO MAINTAIN A CONSTANT CONTACT AMONG THE VETERANS THEMSELVES. IT IS MAINLY DESIGNED TO BRING COMBAT WOUNDED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES TOGETHER. THIS IS PERFORMED BY MAINTAINING A STRONG NETWORK VIA MONTHLY DINNERS, WEEKLY LUNCHES, MONTHLY FINANCE CLASSES, RETREATS AND MANY OTHER VENUES THAT KEEP THEM COMING TOGETHER AND CREATING AN EXTENDED FAMILY OF COMBAT WOUNDED VETERANS.
