TO BRING HEALTH & HOPE TO COMMUNITIES IN EAST TEXAS THROUGH 1) A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FOOD BANKING BY GIVING ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD, HEALTH AND WELLNESS SUPPORT SERVICES, AND 2) EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

FOOD OUTREACH PROGRAMS - AS TRINITY RIVER FOOD BANK, CWC IS NOW A PARTNER DISTRIBUTION ORGANIZATION (PDO) FOR THE HOUSTON FOOD BANK IN FOUR TEXAS COUNTIES - LIBERTY, SAN JACINTO, TRINITY, AND WALKER COUNTIES. DUE TO THE UNPRECEDENTED IMPACT BEING FELT ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM REDUCED WAGES OR JOB LOSS AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE NEED FOR HUNGER RELIEF SERVICES IN THE FOOD BANK'S RURAL FOUR-COUNTY SERVICE AREA HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY IN RECENT MONTHS. DURING 2021 THE FOOD BANK HAS DISTRIBUTED OVER 11 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD TO APPROXIMATELY 340,000 INDIVIDUALS. NEW SITES HAVE BEEN OPENED IN 2021 AND A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN STARTED TO BUILD A PERMANENT BUILDING FOR TRINITY RIVER FOOD BANK.
EDUCATIONAL - CWC CONDUCTS A TWO-YEAR SCHOOL OF MINISTRY PROGRAM TO HELP OTHERS FULFILL THEIR CALL THROUGH DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING. STUDENTS ARE EQUIPPED TO SHARE THE LOVE OF CHRIST EFFECTIVELY IN WHATEVER MINISTRY THEY ARE CALLED TO SERVE. CWC WORKS INSIDE TEXAS PRISONS AND CONDUCTS WORSHIP SERVICES FOR THE INMATES. IN 2021 CWC WAS ABLE TO RESUME ITS WORK INSIDE TEXAS PRISONS; 52 SERVICES WERE HELD, REACHING NEARLY 1,200 INMATES.
MINISTRY - CWC IS A DISASTER RELIEF AGENCY WITH THE HOUSTON FOOD BANK AND PARTICIPATES WITH OTHER AGENCIES LIKE SALVATION ARMY, LOCAL CHURCHES, AND NON-PROFITS FOR DISASTER RELIEF PROJECTS. CWC PROVIDES MONTHLY SUPPORT FOR AN ORPHANAGE IN UGANDA, AFRICA. FUNDS HAVE BEEN RAISED TO PROVIDE MUCH-NEEDED SCHOOL SUPPLIES, FOOD, SHOES, CLOTHING, AND OTHER NECESSITIES FOR THE STUDENTS. DURING 2021 CWC WAS ABLE TO MAKE AN ANNUAL VISIT TO THE ORPHANAGE IN APRIL 2021. DURING 2021 ASSISTANCE WAS ALSO SENT BY CWC TO AID CHILDREN WHO ARE LIVING ON THE STREETS IN THE PHILIPPINES. THIS ASSISTANCE PROVIDES CLEAN DRINKING WATER, FOOD AND OTHER ITEMS AS NEEDED.
