ENHANCE THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE UNFORTUNATE AND ELDERLY IN OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING REGULAR, HOT, HARDY, NUTRITIOUS, WELL-BALANCED MEALS FIVE DAYS A WEEK AT NO CHARGE AND WITH NO REQUIREMENTS.

14,198 FREE MEALS WERE SERVED IN 2021. THE SOUP KITCHEN HAS BEEN IN OPERATION SINCE 2007 AND IS A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION EXCEPT FOR TWO EMPLOYEES A PART-TIME MISSION COORDINATOR AND A PART-TIME MAINTENANCE PERSON. THE MISSION COORDINATOR INVENTORIES AND ORDERS GROCERIES AND SUPPLIES AND MAKES SURE THERE ARE AN ADEQUATE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS SCHEDULED EACH DAY. SHE ALSO IS THE LIAISON BETWEEN THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE SOUP KITCHEN AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. 94 OF THE 279 VOLUNTEERS WERE FIRST-TIME VOLUNTEERS IN 2021. OVER 6,090 VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE CONTRIBUTED.
