BECAUSE OF THE POPULAR EDUCATION METHODOLOGY, LOCAL TEAMS MULTIPLIED THE TEACHINGS SO THAT MANY THOUSANDS MORE RECEIVED THE BENEFIT OF LEARNING THE CAPACITAR PRACTICES IN ALL OF THE COUNTRIES SERVED.IN FEBRUARY, JUNE AND OCTOBER 2022, CAPACITAR INTERNATIONAL CONVENED GLOBAL GATHERINGS IN ENGLISH AND IN SPANISH WITH OVER 350 PARTICIPANTS TO SHARE PRACTICES, TEACHINGS AND EXPERIENCES AND TO CONNECT TEAMS FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES.RESPONSE TO CLIMATE DISASTERS AND GENDER VIOLENCE HEALING: ZOOM OR INTERNET OUTREACH TRAUMA TRAININGS WERE OFFERED BY CAPACITAR TEAMS IN INDONESIA AND THE PHILIPPINES IN RESPONSE TO THE VARIOUS DISASTERS. IN AFRICAN COUNTRIESDR CONGO, RWANDA, TANZANIA, AND SOUTH SUDANTRAUMA HEALING TRAININGS WERE OFFERED TO WOMEN AND YOUTH WHO ARE DEALING WITH TRAUMA AND GENDER VIOLENCE. OUTREACH ALSO CONTINUED IN MEXICO TO HEAL GENDER VIOLENCE. ZOOM TRAININGS AND REFUGEE ACCOMPANIMENT CONTINUED TO BE OFFERED IN THE USIN TUCSON, AZ AND AT THE TEXAS, MEXICO BORDER IN EL PASO AND CIUDAD JUAREZ. NEW WORK STARTED IN MEXICALI IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CENTER BORDER COMPASSION. ZOOM 4-MODULE TRAININGS INVOLVED PARTICIPANTS FROM THE US, THE UK, EUROPE AND OTHER COUNTRIES.
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM:IN 2022, AS THE COVID PANDEMIC WOUND DOWN, CAPACITAR INTERNATIONAL TEAMS FACILITATED HUNDREDS OF WORKSHOPS FOR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE VIA ZOOM TECHNOLOGY WITH MANY MORE THOUSANDS BENEFITING FROM THE POPULAR EDUCATION MULTIPLIER EFFECT. TRAINERS TOOK ON THE LEADERSHIP TO WORK IN MANY COUNTRIES INCLUDING: THE USA (CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, AND ARIZONA), CANADA, MEXICO, EL SALVADOR, NICARAGUA, PANAM, ARGENTINA, IRELAND, NORTHERN IRELAND, SCOTLAND, ENGLAND, WALES, GERMANY, ISRAEL, JAPAN, THE PHILIPPINES, INDONESIA, AFGHANISTAN AND PARTS OF AFRICA. OVER 3,200 DIRECT PARTICIPANTS WERE EITHER GRASSROOTS LEADERS OR PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK WITH COMMUNITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO HEALING AND TRANSFORMING PEOPLE IMPACTED BY STRESS, POLITICAL AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, NATURAL DISASTERS, TRAUMA AND ILLNESS (COVID, CANCER, HIV/AIDS AND DISABILITIES). MANUALS AND TRAINING MATERIALS WERE PRODUCED, PUBLISHED AND TRANSLATED, INCLUDING UPDATING OF TRAUMA HEALING & TRANSFORMATION, 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION IN ENGLISH. THE CAPACITAR WEBSITE CONTINUED TO BE UPDATED TO OFFER COVID RESPONSE MATERIALS AND VIDEOS, AND MAKE AVAILABLE MANY MORE HEALING RESOURCES IN 36 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. ZOOM OUTREACH WAS OFFERED TO YOUTH AND TEACHERS IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN TO SUPPORT THOSE IMPACTED BY THE POLITICS THERE.
NATIONAL PROGRAM:CALIFORNIA: IN 2022 CAPACITAR CONTINUED TO OFFER THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS IN CALIFORNIA. FOUR-MODULE TRAININGS WERE COMPLETED VIA ZOOM WITH PARTICIPANTS COMING FROM LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, WORK WITH THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED, SCHOOLS, TEACHERS, MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS, WOMENS GROUPS, YOUTH AT RISK, WORK WITH REFUGEES AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE, AND OUTREACH TO REFUGEES, IMMIGRANTS AND THE NEEDY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. ZOOM SUPPORT GROUPS WERE INITIATED SEVERAL DAYS A WEEK TO RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF PERSONS IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC.
