TO HONOR WORTHY ATHLETES AND OTHERS WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ADVANCEMENT AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF ATHLETIC ENDEAVORS IN FRESNO COUNTY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

ANNUAL ENSHRINEMENT DINNER TO HONOR INDUCTEES. APPROXIMATELY 350 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED THE ANNUAL DINNER IN OCTOBER 2021. FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR A PERMANENT LOCATION FOR THE HALL OF FAME. FUNDS WILL ALLOW THE HALL OF FAME TO CONTINUE TO HONOR ATHLETES AT ITS ANNUAL ENSHRINEMENT DINNER.


THE HALL OF FAME CONTRIBUTED TIME AND FUNDS TO THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS DURING THE YEAR:PETER G. MEHAS SCHOLARSHIP: THE "PETER G. MEHAS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP" RECOGNIZES A GRADUATING SENIOR STUDENT-ATHLETE (BOY OR GIRL) FROM EDISON HIGH SCHOOL WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED EXEMPLARY TEAM SPIRIT AND LEADERSHIP ON AND OFF THE FIELD. RECIPIENTS ARE PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 TO HELP THEM PURSUE THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL.


A CORE OBJECTIVE OF THE FRESNO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME SINCE ITS FOUNDATION IN 1958, HAS BEEN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PERMANENT HOME WHERE THE RICH ATHLETIC HERITAGE, AMAZING STORIES, AND PRICELESS MEMORABILIA OF FRESNO COUNTY COULD BE DISPLAYED AND CELEBRATED. IN 2015 THE FRESNO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME ESTABLISHED A DISPLAY AT THE FRESNO COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM LOCATED AT THE FRESNO FAIRGROUNDS TO SHOWCASE SOME OF THEIR MEMORABILIA.
