THE LEA COUNTY EARLY LEARNING AND RECOVERY COALITION BROUGHT TOGETHER LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS WHO CONVENE TO DEVELOP A COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS ACTION PLAN FOR LEA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO TO MAKE MEANINGFUL STRIDES TO REDUCE LEARNING LOSS RESULTING FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, IMPROVE LITERACY RATES, AND PROVIDE AN ASSET-BASED SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR LEA COUNTY STUDENTS.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERING WITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS, ASSESSMENTS WERE CONDUCTED IN A COUPLE OF MAJOR AREAS THROUGHOUT LEA COUNTY - SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN. TO DEVELOP ANTICIPATED OR EMERGING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND DEVELOP ACTION PLANS THE SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS ASSESSMENT WAS CONDUCTED IN EACH LEA COUNTY COMMUNITY. COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY UNDERSTAND THAT ALONG WITH MEETING SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS QUALITY PUBLIC LANDSCAPES REFLECT A COMMUNITY'S SENSE OF VALUE AND CIVIC PRIDE. THE LANDSCAPE DESIGN ASSESSMENT HIGHLIGHTED BEATIFICATION AREAS AND WAYS TO IMPROVE CURRENT LANDSCAPING IN HOBBS RESULTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN.
