A FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY.

LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST SECTOR OF FORT WORTH SINCE 1987, TEXAS HEALTH HARRIS METHODIST HOSPITAL SOUTHWEST FORT WORTH (THSW) IS A 266-BED ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL. THSW PROVIDES A WIDE ARRAY OF COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES INCLUDING: SURGICAL AND IMAGING SERVICES, A 24-HOUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS THERAPY, ADULT CRITICAL CARE, AND A LEVEL II NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT. THSW EARNED A SILVER TEXAS HEALTH CARE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AWARD FROM THE TMF HEALTH QUALITY INSTITUTE AND IS A HEART FAILURE, STROKE AND CHEST PAIN CERTIFIED BY THE JOINT COMMISSION. MORE THAN 1,350 EMPLOYEES WORK AT THE HOSPITAL AND MORE THAN 662 PHYSICIANS ARE PRACTICING ON THE MEDICAL STAFF. DURING THE YEAR, THSW HAD 62,045 PATIENT DAYS, 14,896 DISCHARGES, 89,476 OUTPATIENT ENCOUNTERS, 64,888 EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS AND 3,401 BIRTHS. THSW PROVIDES QUALITY MEDICAL HEALTHCARE REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, AGE, OR ABILITY TO PAY. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING MEDICARE AND MEDICAID FOR REIMBURSEMENT THAT DOES NOT ALWAYS COVER THE COST OF PROVIDING THE CARE.
