MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY PROVIDES QUALITY MEDICAL HEALTH CARE REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, AGE OR ABILITY TO PAY BY OFFERING ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES TO ITS COMMUNITY. MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY INCLUDES THE MERCY CANCER CENTER WHICH IS ACCREDITED BY THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS COMMISSION ON CANCER. MERCY'S RADIATION ONCOLOGISTS ARE GIVING NEW HOPE TO CANCER PATIENTS WITH CONDITIONS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED INACCESSIBLE OR INOPERABLE WITH SPECIALIZED TECHNOLOGY INCLUDING GAMMA KNIFE-CONSIDERED THE "GOLD STANDARD" ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR TREATING CANCER AND NON-MALIGNANT TUMORS AND ILLNESSES OF THE BRAIN; THE TRUEBEAM LINEAR ACCELERATOR-PROVIDES NONINVASIVE RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT USING 3D IMAGING FOR INCREASED PRECISION LEADING TO FEWER SIDE EFFECTS; AND CALYPSO-UTILIZED TO TRACK PROSTATE MOVEMENT DURING STEREOTACTIC TREATMENTS FOR PROSTATE CANCER.
MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY'S WOMEN AND INFANT SERVICES INCLUDES GYNECOLOGY SERVICES AS WELL AS COMPREHENSIVE MATERNITY CARE, FROM PREGNANCY AND PRENATAL CARE, TO LABOR, DELIVERY AND BIRTH CARE AS WELL AS POSTNATAL, BREASTFEEDING AND LACTATION CARE. IN 2021, MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY WAS NAMED A BEST MATERNITY HOSPITAL BY NEWSWEEK AND THE LEAPFROG GROUP. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, MERCY HAD 3,795 BIRTHS. MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY ALSO OPERATES A LEVEL-III NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU) PROVIDING SPECIALIZED CARE FOR CRITICALLY ILL NEWBORNS. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, MERCY HAD 8,483 NICU PATIENT DAYS.
MERCY HOSPITAL OKLAHOMA CITY OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF THE LATEST ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL SERVICES, RANGING FROM MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY TO COMPLEX ARTHROSCOPIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE ORTHOPEDIC AND PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, MERCY HAD 5,748 ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY CASES.
