THE STAR PROGRAM IS A CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICE THAT PROVIDES 24-HOUR TELEPHONE CRISIS COUNSELING AND EMERGENCY CARE SERVICES THAT ARE AVAILABLE 7 DAYS A WEEK, 24 HOURS A DAY FOR YOUTH AND THEIR CAREGIVERS FOR FAMILY CONFLICT, JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, RUNAWAY, OR TRUANCY ISSUES. APPROXIMATELY 890 YOUTH AND 350 CAREGIVERS ARE SERVED ANNUALLY.
THE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM EXISTS TO HELP THE PEOPLE OF LUBBOCK COUNTY AND THE DIOCESE OF LUBBOCK WITH EMERGENCIES IN THEIR FAMILIES AND BY PROVIDING INFORMATION ON THE VARIOUS OTHER RESOURCES AND HOW TO ACCESS THEM. THE PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED BY, AND WORKS CLOSELY WITH, THE CATHOLIC PARISHES AND OTHER AGENCIES OF LUBBOCK COUNTY IN PROVIDING SERVICES AND SEEKING TO HELP PREVENT FUTURE EMERGENCIES.
CSBG CARES - PARENT EMPOWERING PROGRAM IS AN ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WITH A CASE MANAGEMENT COMPONENT, WHICH ASSESSES THE PARTICIPANT'S OVERALL NEEDS AND DEVELOPS A PLAN FOR MEETING THOSE NEEDS. THROUGH EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE, IMMEDIATRE NEEDS ARE MET. IF CASE MANAGEMENT IS NEEDED, PARTICIPANTS ARE ASSISTED THROUGHOUT THE SERVICE DEVILERY SYSTEM BY FOLLOWING A SERIES OF ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO FACILITATE DECISION MAKING, GOAL PLANNING, INTERVENTION, AND EVALUATION.
