WITH A VISION OF A CASA VOLUNTEER FOR EVERY CHILD WHO NEEDS ONE, THE ORGANIZATION ASSIGNED 559 VOLUNTEERS TO 655 CASES. ACCORDING TO THE TEXAS ANNUAL REPORT AND DATA BOOK FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES, TARRANT COUNTY HAD THE 3RD HIGHEST NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES OF CHILD ABUSE IN THE STATE. OUR VOLUNTEERS SERVED A TOTAL OF 1,168 ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN IN TARRANT COUNTRY FOSTER CARE. OF THE 1,168 CHILDREN SERVED, 41% WERE UNDER THE AGE OF FIVE AND REPRESENTED EVERY RACE, ETHNICITY, AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS.
