THE YMCA'S PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH SERVED 4078 MEMBERS AND 8957 GUESTS DURING 2019 THROUGH ORGANIZED AND FREELANCE PROGRAMS CONSISTING OF ADULT FITNESS, ORANIZED AND FREE SWIMMING, YOUTH GYMNASTIC CLASSES AND TEAM COMPETITIONS. PHYSICAL EDUCATION IS PARAMOUNT IN PRESERVING HEALTH AND BUILDING BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT IN ADULTS AND YOUTH ALIKE.
WITH PARTICIPATION IN ORGANIZED SPORTS PROGRAMS, HOWARD COUNTY ADULTS AND YOUTH FURTHER DEVELOP PHYSICAL SKILSL AND ACQURIE PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MIND AND SPIRIT THROUGH INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM COMPETITIONS IN BASKETBALL, SOCCER, AND VOLLEYBALL. 586 HOWARD COUNTY RESIDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE YMCA'S SPORT PROGRAMS DURING 2019.
ONE OF THE ORE FULFILLING PROGRAMS CONDUCTED BY THE YMCA IS ITS CHILDCARE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM IS A UNITED WAY SUPPORTED FUNCTION AD SERVED 44 BIG SPRING AND HOWARD COUNTY YOUTH IN 2019. THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF ALL DAY AND AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION FOR CHILDREN OF WORKING AND STUDENT PARENTS. THE PROGRAM IS INHERENT IN ACHIEVING THE YMCA'S MISSION OF DEVELOPING STRONG BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT IN THE YOUTH OF HOWARD COUNTY THROUGH THE SUPERVISED ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CHILDCARE PROGRAM.
