COMMUNITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ORGANIZATION PROMOTING BUSINESS IN THE SULPHUR SPRINGS & HOPKINS COUNTY AREA, AS IT SERVICES MEMBERS AND ATTEMPTS TO BRING OTHERS TO THIS AREA AND REGION OF THE STATE.

MAJOR FUNDRAISING EFFORT FOR THE CHAMBER AS IT HOSTS THE WORLD CHAMPION HOPKINS COUNTY STEW CONTEST IN OCTOBER THAT IS A COMMUNITY TRADITION EACH AUTUMN. PROVIDES FUNDS FOR OTHER ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDES DESTINATION TOURISM AS FORMER RESIDENTS OF THE AREA AS WELL AS TOURISTS COME TO THE AREA EACH YEAR FOR THE 40 PLUS YEAR TRADITION IN HOPKINS COUNTY. AN ESTIMATED 20,000 PEOPLE ATTEND THE EVENT WITH SOME 125 POTS OF STEW COOKED, SERVED AND JUDGED FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS.
THE HOPKINS COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAS TWO MAIN FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND THEIR RELATED EXPENSES. IT ALSO HAS OTHER SMALLER EVENTS TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR COMMUNITY AID AND DEVELOPMENT AND EXEPENSES RELATED TO THOSE FUNCTIONS AS WELL.
ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GOLF TOURNAMENT THAT IS HOSTED AT THE SULPHUR SPRINGS COUNTRY CLUB EACH SPRING. TEAMS PARTICIPATE AND PRIZES ARE AWARDED TO TOP TEAMS IN THE TOURNAMENT EVENT.
