CIANA WAS AWARDED A NYC HEALTH + HOSPITALS (H+H) COVID-19 TEST & TRACE (T2) GRANT IN JULY 2020. THE INITIAL FOCUS OF THE GRANT WAS TO PERFORM COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION INVOLVINGSAFETY PRACTICES, INCLUDING DISTRIBUTING MULTI-LINGUAL FLYERS ON PUBLIC HEALTH SAFETY PRACTICES (SOCIAL DISTANCING, WEARING MASKS, USING HAND SANITIZER FREQUENTLY AND STAYING HOME WHEN SICK). DURING THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021, THE GRANT WAS ALSO EXPANDED TO INCLUDE INFORMATION ON THE NEWLY DEVELOPED COVID-19 VACCINE. FROM 2020 TO 2021, CIANA DISTRIBUTED ALMOST 78,000 FLYERS, ENGAGED WITH OVER 72,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND DISTRIBUTED OVER 74,000PIECES OF PPE.INCLUDES EXPENDITURES OF $56,345 FOR IMMIGRATION AND LEGAL CASE MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.
DYCD/SONYC AFTERSCHOOL MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM SERVED 25 STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES OFFERING ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES
IN SEPTEMBER 2020, CIANA WAS AWARDED A NYC CARE GRANT BY THE MAYORS OFFICE OF IMMIGRANT AFFAIRS(MOIA). THE GRANT WAS TO EDUCATE AND ASSIST COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO ENROLL IN THE NEWLY EXPANDED HEALTHCARE PROGRAM INTO QUEENS. NYC CARE IS A HEALTHCARE ACCESS PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR NYC RESIDENTS WHO COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD OR HAVE ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE.
