OUR MISSION IS TO MEET THE SPIRITUAL AND PRACTICAL NEEDS OF THE FAMILIES OF PRISONERS. WE STRIVE TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND CARING HOME IN WHICH FAMILIES CAN REST WHILE VISITING LOVED ONES CURRENTLY INCARCERATED IN THE ADJACENT PRISON SYSTEM.

THE HOSPITALITY HOUSE MINISTERS TO FAMILIES OF INMATES THAT ARE INCARCERATED AT ONE OF THE PRISON UNITS IN GATESVILLE, TX. VOLUNTEERS AT THE HOSPITALITY HOUSE PROVIDE MEALS AND REFRESHMENTS, CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES, AND COUNSELING AS NEEDED. IN 2021, 143 VOLUNTEERS WORKED A TOTAL OF 158 HOURS AT THE FACILITY. THEY HOSTED 192 GUESTS, SERVED 228 MEALS AND PROVIDED OVERNIGHT FACILITIES FOR 98 OF THE GUESTS. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED AND DISPENSED COUNTLESS DONATED ITEMS SUCH AS FOOD, DRINKS, CLEANING SUPPLIES, PAPER PRODUCTS AND BOOKS TO THE GUESTS AT NO CHARGE TO THEM.OVERNIGHT SHELTER IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE FOR FAMILIES WHO TRAVEL OVER 250 MILES AND HAVE PERMISSION FOR A SPECIAL FOUR HOUR WEEKEND VISIT WITH THEIR INCARCERATED LOVED ONE. THE FACILITY INCLUDES 10 PRIVATE BEDROOMS, A KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, LAUNDRY, SHOWER ROOM AND AN INDOOR/OUTDOOR CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA. IT ALSO PROVIDES A DESIGNATED OFFICE SPACE AND WORKDAY USE APARTMENT FOR THE MANAGER. VOLUNTEERS CONTACT THE FAMILIES DURING THE YEAR TO CHECK ON THEM AND OFFER PRAYER AND SUPPORT FOR THE INMATES, FAMILIES AND PRISON STAFF. AT CHRISTMAS, AN ANGEL TREE WAS SUPPORTED SO THAT CHILDREN OF INMATES COULD RECEIVE GIFTS.VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATE IN SEVERAL COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES SUCH AS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AND EXCHANGE CLUB, AS WELL AS SPEAK AT LOCAL CHURCHES TO BRING AWARENESS TO THIS MINISTRY AND THE SERVICES THAT ARE OFFERED.
