THE FOUNDATION ADMINISTERED FUNDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 99 ACTIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS BEING CONDUCTED AT THE SOUTH TEXAS VETERANS' HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. THESE PROJECTS ARE INVESTIGATING CURRENT, NEW, AND IMPROVED METHODS OF TREATING HUMAN AFFLICTIONS. AREAS OF STUDY INCLUDE LABORATORY WORK, DATA SCIENCES, HEALTH SERVICES IMPROVEMENT, AND CLINICAL STUDIES. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES THE STRUCTURE TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEEDS OF THE RESEARCH INVESTIGATORS INCLUSIVE OF PROCUREMENT, SUPPORT STAFF EMPLOYMENT, AND GRANT ADMINISTRATION.
