SINCE 1973, THE WILLIAM K. WARREN MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTER, INC. ("WMRC") HAS HELPED SUPPORT SAINT FRANCIS HEALTH SYSTEM, INC. ("SFHS"). A PRIMARY PURPOSE OF WMRC IS TO SUPPORT SFHS BY HOLDING, MANAGING, ACQUIRING AND BUILDING ANCILLARY REAL ESTATE FACILITIES SO THAT SFHS CAN FOCUS ON HEALTH CARE DELIVERY. FOR EXAMPLE, WMRC, BOTH DIRECTLY AND THROUGH ITS 501(C)(2) TITLE HOLDING SUBSIDIARY, OWNS AND OPERATES A NUMBER OF LARGE MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDINGS USED BY SAINT FRANCIS PHYSICIANS AND WHICH HOUSE DEPARTMENTS OF SAINT FRANCIS HOSPITAL. WMRC ALSO PROVIDES STRATEGIC PROPERTY CONSULTING SERVICES AND EXPERTISE TO SFHS IN EVALUATING AND PLANNING FOR FUTURE REAL ESTATE NEEDS.
