THE CORPUS CHRISTI LITERACY COUNCIL TRAINS VOLUNTEERS TO TUTOR ADULTS TO READ AND WRITE IN ENGLISH. SMALL GROUP CLASSES AND COMPUTER LABS ARE MADE AVAILABLE BY THE LITERACY PROGRAMS. TUTOR-LEARNER PAIRS MEET PREDOMINANTLY AT THE GREENWOOD LIBRARY LOCATION IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS HOWEVER, THE MEETINGS MAY TAKE PLACE IN A VARIETY OF LOCATIONS. HISTORICALLY, NEARLY 600 ADULTS ARE ASSISTED EACH YEAR WHO IN TURN ASSIST THEIR CHILDREN AT HOME AND IN SCHOOL. THE CORPUS CHRISTI LITERACY COUNCIL IS HELPING TO CREATE A LITERATE WORKFORCE AND A MORE LITERATE COMMUNITY.
