IN 2021, THE ROUND ROCK CHAMBER RE-ENGAGED GARNER ECONOMICS, A NATIONAL SITE SELECTION AND CONSULTING FIRM, TO REFRESH THE ORGANIZATION'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY WITH AN UPDATED SET OF TARGET INDUSTRY SECTORS AND PROGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE CHAMBER HIRED GLOBAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MARKETING AGENCY, DEVELOPMENT COUNSELLORS INTERNATIONAL, TO LAUNCH AN EXTERNAL BRANDING AND MARKETING PLAN TO SUPPORT NATIONAL BUSINESS RECRUITMENT EFFORTS. THE RESULTS FROM BOTH INITIATIVES WILL SERVE AS A ROADMAP FOR EXECUTION OF THE CHAMBER'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR THE NEXT THREE TO FIVE YEARS.THE CHAMBER ALSO SUPPORTED THE RECRUITMENT AND EXPANSION OF BOTH NEW AND EXISTING BUSINESSES ACROSS A DIVERSE SET OF INDUSTRIES THAT REPRESENTS THE CREATION OF HUNDREDS OF NEW AND RETAINED JOBS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN NEW INVESTMENT IN THE COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION, THE CHAMBER'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIVISION GENERATED 128 NEW BUSINESS PROSPECT LEADS, RESPONDED TO 28 PROPOSAL REQUESTS, HOSTED 8 PROSPECT VISITS AND PARTICIPATED IN 4 OUT-OF-MARKET ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MARKETING TRIPS. TO SUPPORT ROUND ROCK'S ENTREPRENEUR ECOSYSTEM, THE CHAMBER HOSTED MORE THAN 30 ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVENTS WITH MORE THAN 400 TOTAL ATTENDEES AND PROVIDED MORE THAN 100 HOURS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, THE CHAMBER TEAM ORGANIZED AND HOSTED 95 EVENTS AND INVESTOR ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING VIRTUAL, HYBRID AND SOCIALLY-DISTANCED, IN-PERSON EVENTS, WITH A TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF MORE THAN 4,800 PEOPLE.FINALLY, SIGNIFICANT EFFORTS WERE MADE DURING THE 87TH LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO PROTECT PRO-BUSINESS POLICIES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS THAT ALLOW US TO COMPETE FOR NEW BUSINESSES, WHILE ALSO SUPPORTING PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE CRITICAL FUNDING FOR INFRASTRUCTURE AND EDUCATION.
