THE HOLDING INSTITURE, INC. - COMMUNITY CENTER RESPONDS TO THE NEEDS OF WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES TO ENCOURAGE HEALTH AND WELLNESS, TO EMPOWER EDUCATION, TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY AND TO INVITE DISCIPLESHIP. BI-LINGUAL AND BI-CULTURAL COURSES IN BEGINNING, INTERMEDIATE AND CONVERSATION ENGLISH AND COMPUTER LITERACY. THESE ACTIVITES HAVE BEEN CURTAILED DUE TO THE CURRENT PANDEMIC. THE ORGANIZAION ALSO OPERATES A FOOD BANK PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES EMERGENCY FOOD. THE FOOD BANK PROGRAM IS PRIMARILY FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE NO RESOURCES LEFT AT THE END OF THE MONTH BEFORE OBTAINING GOVERNMENT FOOD STAMP ASSISTANCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LAREDO REGIONAL FOOD BANK. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES SHELTER FOR PERSONS NEEDING SHELTER, CLOTHING, AND FOOD ASSISTANCE DUE TO EMERGENCIES AND OTHER HARDSHIPS.
