THE PARADE ATTRACTS PEOPLE FROM SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND PROMOTES SKIATOOK. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ATTENDANCE. THE BANQUET IS HELD EACH YEAR. PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT ARE USED TO PRODUCE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

THIS FESTIVAL ATTRACTS APPROXIMATLEY 10,000 PEOPLE FROM SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND IS A VEHICLE FOR EDUCATION THOSE IN SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES ABOUT SKIATOOK. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ATTENDANCE. THE FESTIVAL IS HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FLY-IN AT THE SKIATOOK AIRPORT FEATURING VINTAGE AIRPLANES AND NOTED RETIRED PILOTS. FOOD AND CRAFT VENDORS ALONG WITH LOCAL MERCHANTS ARE INVITED TO DISPLAY AND SELL MERCHANDISE DURING THIS ONE-DAY EVENT. PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT ARE USED TO PRODUCE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. PLANNING FOR THE EVENT BEGINS IN MAY EACH YEAR AND THE EVENT IS HELD IN SEPTEMBER. ALL WORK IS DONE BY CHEMBER OF COMMERCE MEMBERS FREE OF CHARGE, AND EXPENSES ARE MET WITH THE PROCEEDS.

PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALABOUT SKIATOOK AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, AND SUPPORT THE SKIATOOK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND ITS ACTIVITIES THUS SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE.
