PERCUSSIVE ARTS SOCIETY, INC (PAS) SERVES A SUBSCRIBER BASE OF MORE THAN 5,000 INDIVIDUALS, PUBLISHING A PROFESSIONAL JOURNAL, PERCUSSIVE NOTES, 5 TIMES PER YEAR, AND AN ELECTRONIC MAGAZINE, RHYTHM SCENE, 6 TIMES PER YEAR. PAS ALSO HAS AN EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESEARCH DATABASE WHICH VARIES IN AVAILABILITY TO SUBSCRIBERS, BASED ON THEIR LEVEL OF SUBSCRIPTION. PAS IS HOST TO THE WORLD'S LARGEST ANNUAL DRUM AND PERCUSSION CONVENTION, PERCUSSIVE ARTS SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION (PASIC), WHICH HAS ATTENDEES OF MORE THAN 5,000 EACH YEAR. RHYTHM DISCOVERY CENTER, A CREATIVE VISION OF PAS, IN DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, IS THE WORLD'S FOREMOST HANDS-ON DRUM AND PERCUSSION MUSEUM WITH MORE THAN 17,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY.


PAS HAS A MUSEUM OF RARE AND FINE PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS AND A RESEARCH LIBRARY OF PERCUSSION SCORES, METHODS AND RECORDING FROM THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. ACCESS TO MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC IS ALSO PROVIDED VIA THE INTERNET AT THE PAS WEBSITE. PAS PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO ITS CONVENTION AND FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES TO FULL TIME STUDENTS PERSUING PERCUSSION EDUCATION. PAS ALSO GRANTS CASH AWARDS FOR CONTEST WINNERS OF PAS SPONSORED CONTESTS TO PROMOTE PERFORMANCE, AWARENESS AND TO DEVELOP PERFORMANCE LITERATURE FOR THE PERCUSSIVE ARTS.


PAS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION IS THE LARGEST ANNUAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE FOR PERCUSSION STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS IN THE WORLD. IN 4 DAYS OVER 5,000 ATTENDESS SEE OVER 135 CLINICS, PRESENTATIONS AND CONCERTS PRESENTED BY LEADING ARTISTS AND TEACHERS.


MEMBERS SERVICES INCLUDE PROJECT GRANT SUPPORT FOR CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO PROMOTE PERCUSSION THROUGH FESTIVALS, CONTESTS AND SHARING OF INFORMATION. PAS HAS 48 CHAPTERS IN THE UNITED STATES AND 23 INTERNATIONAL CHAPTERS.
