PROVIDE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES FOR VICTIMS IN RURAL NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA. THE AGENCY IS THE SINGLE PROVIDER OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR FOUR COUNTIES. THE AGENCY PROVIDES CRISIS INTERVENTION AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES TO 8,757 CLIENTS LAST YEAR. THE MAJORITY OF CLIENTS SERVED ARE NATIVE AMERICAN. HELP-IN-CRISIS, ESTABLISHED BY VOLUNTEERS IN 1979, USES A TRAINED STAFF AND A VOLUNTEER FORCE OF INDIVIDUALS TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES THAT INCLUDE A 24 HOUR CRISIS HOTLINE, EMERGENCY SHELTER, TRANSITIONAL LIVING, COURT ADVOCACY, RAPE RESPONSE AND A FORMAL SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM, A CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER, COUSELING, SUPERVISED VISITATION, BATTERERS TREATMENT, COMMUNINTY EDUCATION, AND REFERRAL.
