INGAA IS AN ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION THAT REPRESENTS THE INTERSTATE NATURAL GAS PIPELINE INDUSTRY IN THE UNITED STATES. INGAA REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS THROUGH COMMENTS ON RULEMAKINGS AND OTHER REGULATORY INITIATIVES UNDERTAKEN BY FEDERAL AGENCIES WITH JURISDICTION OVER ITS MEMBER COMPANIES' ACTIVITIES OR WHOSE ACTIONS OTHERWISE AFFECT ITS MEMBER COMPANIES, TESTIMONY FILED AND DIRECT ADVOCACY WITH COMMITTEES OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS AND, ON OCCASION, THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN FEDERAL AND STATE JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS IN WHICH ITS MEMBERS' COLLECTIVE INTERESTS ARE AT STAKE.

REGULATORY/ENVIRONMENT:INGAA DEVELOPED AND ADVOCATED FOR PROPOSED REVISIONS TO NEPA, CWA SECTION 401, NATIONWIDE PERMITS, SOCIAL COST OF GHGS, AND OTHER APPLICABLE FEDERAL REGULATIONS. INGAA ACTIVELY ENGAGES WITH FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION AND FILED EXTENSIVE COMMENTS IN RESPONSE TO PROCEEDINGS RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE OFFICE OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION, ORDER 871, UPDATES TO THE CERTIFICATE POLICY STATEMENT, AND THE WEYMOUTH COMPRESSION STATION. INGAA CONTINUED TO ENGAGE IN LITIGATION WHERE PRECEDENTIAL QUESTIONS OR REGULATIONS AFFECTING INTERSTATE NATURAL GAS PIPELINES ARE AT STAKE INCLUDING FILING AN AMICUS BRIEF WITH THE U.S. SUPREME COURT IN SUPPORT OF PENNEAST AND TWO AMICUS BRIEFS REGARDING THE D.C. CIRCUIT'S ORDER VACATING SPIRE STL'S SECTION 7 CERTIFICATE. INGAA DEVELOPED, ISSUED, PROMOTED AN ASSOCIATION POSITION AND COMMITMENTS RELATED TO CLIMATE CHANGE. INGAA PARTICIPATES ACTIVELY IN INITIATIVES WITH INDUSTRY GROUPS AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ENHANCE THE PHYSICAL AND CYBER SECURITY OF NATURAL GAS PIPELINES. THIS INCLUDES PARTICIPATION IN THE OIL AND NATURAL GAS SECTOR COORDINATING COUNCIL AND PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DOWNSTREAM NATURAL GAS ISAC.
LEGISLATIVE:INGAA SUPPORTS LEGISLATIVE POLICIES THAT PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL GAS INFRASTRUCTURE, AND THE SAFE, EFFICIENT OPERATION OF NATURAL GAS PIPELINES. INGAA JOINED WITH OTHER LIKE-MINDED STAKEHOLDERS IN ADVOCATING THESE POLICIES TO THE U.S. CONGRESS. SPECIFICALLY, INGAA ADVOCATED AGAINST THE PROPOSED METHANE TAX AND ADVOCATED FOR NATURAL GAS AND HYDROGEN R&D FUNDING AND HYDROGEN/RNG TAX INCENTIVES. INGAA ALSO ADVOCATED FOR THE TIMELY CONFIRMATION OF A 5TH FERC COMMISSIONER.
SAFETY:INGAA ACTIVELY ENGAGES WITH THE PIPELINE AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SAFETY ADMINISTRATION AND FILED EXTENSIVE COMMENTS IN RESPONSE TO PROCEEDINGS RELATED TO THE AUTOMATED VALVE FINAL RULE, MEGA RULE PART 2 AND THE CLASS LOCATION RULEMAKING. INGAA DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED ITS' INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT 2.0 EFFORT.
