DONATIONS TO VARIOUS IRC 501(C)3 ORGANIZATIONS FOR EDUCATIONAL AND WELFARE BENEFITS. EACH ORGANIZATION SERVES THE COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP. COVID-19 SHUT DOWN THE ARKLAMISS AGRICULTURAL FAIR AND THERE WAS NO FUNDRAISING DURING THE CURRENT PERIOD.
AGRICULTURAL FAIR DURING SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER, 2019 SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 55,000 INDIVIDUALS EACH YEAR WHO ATTENDED THE ARK-LA-MISS FAIR. THIS ANNUAL EVENT IS EDUCATIONAL, ENTERTAINING, AND BRINGS THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER. COVID-19 SHUT DOWN THE FACILITY WHERE THE FAIR WAS HELD AND THE FAIR WAS SHUT DOWN AS WELL. DEPRECIATION OF THE TICKET OFFICE WAS THE ONLY EXPENSE FOR THE YEAR RELATED TO FAIR ACTIVITY.
NET LOSS ON THE RENTAL OF THE CLUB HOUSE BUILDING BASED ON 75% ALLOCATION FOR EXPENDITURES. THE CLUB HOUSE SERVES AS A MEETING PLACE FOR THE MEMBERS ONCE A WEEK AND IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR RENTAL THE REST OF THE TIME. THE MAGNOLIA DISTRICT CIVITAN CONVENTION HAS BEEN HELD IN WEST MONROE DURING PAST YEARS AND THE CONVENTION USED THE CLUB HOUSE FOR PROGRAMS DURING THAT PARTICULAR WEEKEND.
CLUB MEMBERS ALSO VOLUNTEER ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB TO PICK UP TRASH ON A STREET IN WEST MONROE ONCE A YEAR. THE CLUB MEMBERS ALSO VOLUNTEER FOR MED CAMPS TO SERVE ONCE A YEAR AT THE CAMP WITH THE KIDS. THE CLUB ALSO WORKS WITH THE LOCAL ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROGRAM AT RISER ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL.
