THE NEW ORLEANS TRACK CLUB, INC. (NOTC) IS AN AMATEUR ATHLETIC ORGANIZATION THAT IS OPERATED PRIMARILY TO FOSTER SPORTS COMPETITION AND PHYSICAL FITNESS. WITH A MEMBERSHIP BASE EXCEEDING 2,000 MEMBERS, NOTC STAGES OR CO-STAGES OVER 20 RUNNING EVENTS EACH YEAR IN NUMEROUS LOCALES THROUGHOUT THE NEW ORLEANS METROPOLITAN AREA. RACES ARE FOR RUNNERS AND RACE-WALKERS AND ARE OFFERED AT VARIOUS DISTANCES.
NOTC STRIVES TO ENCOURAGE PHYSICAL FITNESS AND RUNNING PROGRAMS FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES. IT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY MEETS THROUGH UNDERWRITING THE COSTS OF OPERATING COMPETITIVE EVENTS. SUPPORT OF THIS YOUTH ATHLETIC PROGRAM IS VERY BENEFICIAL DUE TO LIMITED FUNDS IN HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD DEPARTMENT BUDGETS.
