THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS THE ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL, AN ANNUAL COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL POST-SEASON BOWL GAME. THE ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL IS ONE OF THE OLDEST BOWL GAMES IN THE COUNTRY, HOSTING ITS 90TH ANNUAL COLLEGIATE BOWL GAME ON JANUARY 1, 2024. 68,791 SPECTATORS ATTENDED THE JANUARY 1, 2024 EVENT, WITH APPROXIMATELY 68.4 PERCENT OF THE ATTENDEES COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS METROPOLITAN AREA.
THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS 25 AMATEUR SPORTING AND RECOGNITION EVENTS IN LOUISIANA AND AROUND THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS METROPOLITAN AREA. TO PROMOTE AMATEUR SPORTS IN THE AREA, THE SUGAR BOWL SUPPORTED STATE AND LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS FOR VOLLEYBALL, GOLF, REGATTA, LACROSSE, SOCCER, SWIMMING, AND BASKETBALL. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS THE MANNING AWARD, THE EDDIE ROBINSON COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD, THE NEW ORLEANS SPORTS HALL OF FAME, AND THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION. THE SUM TOTAL OF THE ECONOMIC IMPACT FOR ALL SUGAR BOWL ACTIVITIES WAS $389.45 MILLION IN 2023-2024.
THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED THE FIRST EVER SUGAR BOWL COUNTRY KICKOFF ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2023 IN THE CAESARS SUPERDOME. THIS CONCERT WAS HEADLINED BY COUNTRY MUSIC SUPERSTAR GARTH BROOKS, AND IT ALSO FEATURED LOUISIANA'S OWN LAINEY WILSON, AMONG OTHER COUNTRY MUSIC ARTISTS.
