HMC ANNUALLY ORGANIZES THE NATION'S PREMIER WINTER MARATHON, HALF-MARATHON, AND 5K. OVER 300,000 PARTICIPANTS, VOLUNTEERS, AND SPECTATORS MAKE HOUSTON MARATHON RACE DAY THE LARGEST SINGLE-DAY SPORTING EVENT IN HOUSTON. THE HOUSTON ANNUAL RUNNING EVENT IS HELD ON A WEEKEND IN JANUARY. THE EVENT INCLUDES THE HOUSTON MARATHON (APPROXIMATELY 10,000 RUNNERS), THE HOUSTON HALF-MARATHON (APPROXIMATELY 13,500 RUNNERS), AND A 5K RACE (APPROXIMATELY 5,000 RUNNERS).
