TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH ADVOCACY, SERVICES AND SUPPORT.

IN-HOME SERVICES - PROVIDES RELIEF FOR THE PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES FROM THE EVERYDAY CARE, WHETHER IT'S PHYSICAL ASSISTANCE, SUPERVISION, OR ACCOMPANYING ON OUTINGS. THE SUPPORT MAY OCCUR IN THE INDIVIDUAL'S HOME, IN THE COMMUNITY OR IN THE RESPITE CENTER. IT MAY OCCUR REGULARLY OR THE FAMILY MAY ONLY REQUEST ASSISTANCE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES TO ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WHO REQUIRE ASSISTANCE OR SUPPORT TO LIVE IN THEIR OWN HOMES IN THE COMMUNITY. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR QUEST TO LIVE AS INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE AND TO BE SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDED IN THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS HELP PREVENT OR DELAY INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.


BUSINESS ENTERPRISE AND DAY HABILITATION - PROVIDES A VARIETY OF WEEKDAY ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING CONTINUING ACADEMICS, TRANSITION AND JOB SKILLS TRAINING, HANDS-ON CULINARY, ARTS AND CRAFTS, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, AND SUPERVISED INCLUSIVE OUTINGS IN THE COMMUNITY FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE DAY HABILITATION FACILITY IS LOCATED IN THE BATON ROUGE AREA.THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR QUEST TO LIVE AS INDEPENDENTLY AS POSSIBLE AND TO BE SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDED IN THE COMMUNITY.


EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM - PROMOTES THE RIGHTS AND FULL INCLUSION OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND THEIR FAMILIES. TOGETHER WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS, THE PROGRAM PROVIDES SERVICES, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY THAT INSPIRES OUR COMMUNITY AND INDIVIDUALS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES THROUGH THE ARC EARLY HEAD START AND CHILD CARE CENTER. EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND FAMILIES IN HOME AND COMMUNITY SETTINGS. THE PROGRAM ALSO SUPPORTS INCLUSION THROUGH TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECTS TO SUPPORT EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS AND CHILD CARE PROVIDERS TO INCLUDE CHILDREN WITH DISABILTIES IN NATURAL SETTINGS. THE ARC'S CHILDREN'S SERVICES ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES TO FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILTIES THROUGH PARENT SUPPORT AND TRAINING.
