Part 3 - Line 4a
NORTHSTAR WAS CHALLENGED THIS YEAR BY THE COVID PANDEMIC AND HAVING TO CONDUCT INSTRUCTION ONLINE, IN THE LATER PART OF THE YEAR, WE WERE ABLE TO REOPEN OUR CAMPUS AND CAREFULLY REINTEGRATE IN-PERSON LEARNING. WE WORKED CLOSELY WITH TEACHERS TO ACCORDINGLY REFINE AND IMPROVE OUR CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM APPROACHES ACROSS ALL OUR ACADEMIC AND AQI STUDIES. IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING, OUR STAFF ENGAGED IN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON ONLINE TEACHING TECHNIQUES, BUILDING POSITIVE HOME-SCHOOL CONNECTIONS, LEADING CORNERSTONE PROJECTS, ENGAGING STRATEGIES IN LANGUAGE ARTS AND MATH, AND THE POWER OF STORYTELLING. WE CONTINUED TO FOLLOW-UP ON OUR MULTI-YEAR PLANS AS LAID OUT IN OUR WASC ACCREDITATION SCHOOL PLAN. DUE TO COVID NORTHSTAR WAS NOT ABLE TO HOLD MANY OF OUR REGULAR SCHOOL COMMUNITY EVENTS AT OUR CAMPUS, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO BRING MANY ON THEM INTO AN ONLINE FORMAT. SOME OF THOSE INCLUDED INTERNATIONAL DAY, JOG-A-THON, BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT, AND FAMILY MAWLIDS. WE ARE EXCITED BY THE CONTINUED GROWTH AND PROGRESS OF THE SCHOOL AND ITS TEAM.
