THE PACE NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL (NPS) AND ITS SISTER LOCATION AT THE SUNNY DAYS CAMPUS COLLECTIVELY COVER THE LARGEST PROGRAM OPERATION FOR PACE. THE PACE EDUCATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM SUPPORTS 62 STUDENTS FROM 22 DIFFERENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE BAY AREA. THE SCHOOL OFFERS THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE LEVEL OF SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES ADDRESSING MORE PROFOUND AND DIFFERING AUTISM ABILITES. THE PROGRAM IS ALSO ACCREDITED THROUGHT HE WESTERN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES (WASC). PACE ASPIRES TO EXPAND ITS SERVICES IN BOTH NEW LOCATIONS AND DISTRICT OUTREACH.
THE PACE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM COVERS 6 INDEPENDENT RESIDENTIAL HOMES EACH SERVING UP TO 6 RESIDENTS. TWO OF THE HOMES ARE EXCLUSIVELY FOCUSED ON CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 22 YEARS OF AGE. EACH HOME IS CERTIFIED BY THE SAN ANDREAS REGIONAL CENTER (SARC). PACE HAS PROVIDED MUCH NEEDED RESIDENTIAL SERVICES IN THE BAY AREA FOR OVER 30 YEARS.
FACES WAS FOUNDED IN 1995, AND WAS ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH AUTISM TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL UTILIZING APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA). BEHAVIOR THERAPY SERVICES INCLUDE 1:1 INTENSIVE EARLY INTERVENTION, ELEMENTARY-AGED INTERVENTION, SCHOOL AND CAREGIVER COACHING, AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT. THERAPY CAN TAKE PLACE IN OUR FACES CLINIC, THE HOME, THE COMMUNITY, AND AT SCHOOL. ABA TEACHING METHODS ARE USED TO PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE IN ALL SIGNIFICANT AREAS INCLUDING COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE, BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT, SCHOOL READINESS, SELF-CARE AND INDEPENDENCE, PEER SOCIALIZATION, AND PLAY SKILLS
