THE TRAINING PROGRAM IS ALSO A TRUE RESEARCH FIELD STUDY FOR THE PROFESSIONALS. A DIFFERENT RESEARCH LOCATION IS EVERY ONE TO TWO YEARS. CANCELED DUE TO COVID19
RESEARCH ARTICLES PUBLICATIONS. NEWSLETTERS AND A BULLETIN ARE PUBLISHED DURING THE YEAR. THIS KEEPS VOLUNTEERS UP TO DATE ON THE RESEARCH BEING DONE IN THE STATE AND GIVES THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHERE VOLUNTEERS MAY BE NEEDED. IT ALSO REPORTS ON THE RESULTS OF THE VOLUNTEER EFFORTS. THE PUBLISHED ASSETS ALSO CONTAIN THE INFORMATION GENERATED FROM GRANTS.
EACH YEAR THE ARKANSAS ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY HOLDS ITS ANNUAL MEETING. ON SATURDAY, PAPERS ON CURRENT ARCHEOLOGICAL TOPICS ARE PRESENTED BY PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR ARCHEOLOGISTS FROM THROUGHOUT ARKANSAS, IN A 20-MINUTE FORMAT, USUALLY WITH SLIDES.
