HIGH SIERRA ANIMAL RESCUE IS A NO-KILL SHELTER LOCATED IN PORTOLA CALIFORNIA THAT IS DEDICATED TO SAVING THE LIVES OF HOMELESS ADOPTABLE DOGS THAT CAN NO LONGER BE HELD AT COUNTY SHELTERS. WE ARE A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON PROVIDING HEALTH QUALITY OF LIFE AND EMOTIONAL STABILITY FOR ANIMALS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NORTHERN NEVADA.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
PET ADOPTION FEES CHARGED FOR THE COMMITMENT OF ADOPTING FAMILIES TO COVER A PORTION OF THE COSTS INVOLVED IN OPERATING A NO-KILL SHELTER. ALL DOGS BROUGHT INTO THE SHELTER ARE PROVIDED WITH MEDICAL CARE. EXERCISE BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT SOCIALIZATION AND OBEDIENCE TRAINING IF NEEDED AND A SAFE TEMPORARY HOME UNTIL THEY ARE SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED. TO GAIN EXPOSURE DOGS ARE TAKEN TO PUBLIC EVENTS TO BE SEEN AND THEY ARE POSTED TO THE WEBSITE.
